Funny and Fun! submitted by pkooger on November 19, 2008, 5:02pm Five stars for The Fifth Element! I first saw this movie as a teenager and instantly loved it. Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, Gary Oldman, and Chris Tucker star in this high paced action-adventure movie about a surly commando-turned-taxi driver, a sexy alien lady/savior of the universe, and a high-pitched interplanetary radio personality who must band together to save the world. The movie has sci-fi action, butt-kicking alien damsels, a menacing threat to the existence of all life, and even an opera performance! I laughed, I cried, I bought the DVD. Check out this movie!

Cheesy but Good submitted by Sonia on July 10, 2011, 3:13pm This movie is super cheesy but still a lot of fun. Bruce Willis of course plays the hero who has to save the day by protecting the fifth element. You will laugh every time you watch it!

Campy and amazing submitted by beeniepie on August 11, 2013, 2:30pm If you love when Gary Oldman flies his crazy flag, this movie is for you. It's campy and amazing with action and comedy. Chris Tucker does a wonderful job of carrying off sexy crazy.

Chris Tucker is Hilarious submitted by kathscot on August 4, 2014, 10:35am This is a really fun movie. I've watched it a dozen times and still enjoy it.

Amazing film submitted by ishhewitt on July 14, 2016, 6:37pm This is the best romance film. Action, sci-fi, comedy, and adorable. Love love love this film.

OK submitted by ferielp on August 24, 2017, 2:01pm Casually misogynist in that it has the trope of a naive, childlike sexy woman who needs a man to guide and teach her the ways of the world, who is simultaneously also wise when it counts. This doesn't hold up today. The best parts are the opera and Chris Tucker's character.

Favorite scifi of a scifi fan submitted by Michael Flynn on March 12, 2021, 9:42am Chris Tucker is over the top with his lampoon of a future pop media superstar interview host!
Bruce Willis is funny and terrific as usual.
Milla Jovovich is quirky, sexy, mystical, and funny.
Gary Oldman plays an exquisitely despicable villain.
The costumes are really + really fantastic! Sets are unique and fun too.
It is a fast paced action film but not just explosions and smash actions. This is a really fun story that has impulse and direction in the telling. This is my favorite science fiction film of all time. Better than the first Star Wars...?

So 1990’s submitted by mandevil on March 29, 2021, 2:42pm Seems pretty dated, but overall pretty good

Romantic, funny, outrageous sci fi submitted by JulieCraig on June 29, 2021, 1:56pm Loved lilu, John. And Cornelius. Exciting, imaginative. Science fiction with some romance thrown in. The bad guy was great as well as the DJ and classical singer.

Green submitted by tarascon on June 30, 2023, 2:07pm I agree about the casual misogyny but—not to come off as an apologist—that’s BW for you.
Enjoy it for what it is, a zany space romp with some wack characters and nifty little sight gags.

Where are the shtones?

Cheesy Fun submitted by ChallngOfTheStrs on August 8, 2023, 12:50pm Obviously this is a cheesy '90s sci-fi action film, but it's still quite entertaining to watch. You can watch it for the tough-guy fight scenes characteristic of Bruce Willis or for the galactic sci-fi saga, but I often watch it just for the hilarious energy of Chris Tucker.
