COMMUNITY REVIEWS

lib--n submitted by a2sue on August 29, 2013, 4:21pm the best songs on this album are let it be and get back

Beatles as they wanted the album to sound submitted by doctorfang on August 2, 2015, 12:37am The Beatles were not happy with the sound of the original release of the Let It Be album. They were in the midst of internal squabbling, and the tracks were given to Phil Specter to produce. To their dismay, Phil added "angel choruses" and other layers of music that were not created by the Beatles themselves. The Beatles hated it, but were too embroiled in their own issues to do anything about it. THIS album strips away those angel choruses and presents the songs and The Beatles wanted. Many of the songs (Long and Winding Road, especially) sound so much better on this version of the album, it is worth a listen.

Yeah, good to hear with those strings outta there. submitted by lisa on August 20, 2015, 9:40am The fellas' voices are clearer and more natural too.

Beatles. submitted by tbbrown76 on August 23, 2016, 4:02pm Let It Be and Get Back are good. But, Across the Universe is better.

re-do submitted by tisaallen on June 15, 2022, 10:31am Paul wasn't happy with Phil Spector's work on Let It Be so went back and re-did it without the schmaltzy strings. It's an interesting alternate perspective on this flawed album but still not up to the standards of their best work.

A different listen..... submitted by kencza on July 24, 2022, 11:36pm The Beatles put a fresh and better face on some great music. The fluffiness of the original music is left behind and a little grittier version of the music is a welcome change
