Crazy Retelling of a Crazy True Story

The most interesting thing about this movie is that it's based on a true story. I think I enjoyed the film more knowing the back story of both characters, otherwise, it can be a bit of a leap to comprehend how these two become wrapped up in such an intense and obsessive friendship. The girls' acting is over the top, but I think that goes along with the fact that they are portraying teenagers desperately seeking an outlet for creativity, love, expression, recognition, etc.

It's also an interesting origin story for some major figures in film today: Kate Winslet and filmmaker Peter Jackson.

good plot

The plot was good, but the acting was not so much. Their is a true story about this haopening many years ago, yet the movie doesnt claim to be based on true events. I wonder if they used that story for the film idea.
