COMMUNITY REVIEWS

British Blues submitted by unknown on January 16, 2009, 9:17am In the late forties and early fifties musicians in UK discovered authentic blues. As Muddy Waters relates in an interview here, these musicians discovered the blues and brought it to the attention of music lovers in the US. Waters gives thanks to the Brits. This music influenced the early UK rockers extensively. There is a great clip of John Lennon singing the blues. Mike Figgis gets together a wide selection of British musicians of the day. There are wonderful performances by Van Morrison, Tom Jones, Lulu, Jeff Beck and many others. These people get together and make music with little interference of production. There are interesting interviews with the Brits and American blues artists. In the extras I highly recommend the interview of Mike Figgis.
