Sweet if Sappy submitted by Sara W on August 23, 2011, 9:53pm Notting HIll isn't a movie that knocks you off your feet, but it is very sweet and has very funny moments. It's written by Richard Curtis, and like Love Actually and other movies he's written, it's not perfect, but there are perfect moments.

Overall a good movie submitted by andreahubert on June 26, 2012, 8:50am This movie is quietly great. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant have a slightly awkward chemistry, but you still hope that they end up together. The ensemble cast is great.

nh submitted by a2sue on August 10, 2013, 5:34pm this is one of my very favorite movies of all time. i enjoyed the unconventional love story, but the best part was watching spike. he was hilarious!

cute submitted by kbahleda on August 12, 2018, 9:09am A bit predictable but overall a cute movie

Notting Hill submitted by SBNB on June 24, 2019, 7:48pm This is a fun romcom that I have enjoyed for years. I think about parts of the movie now and then (the space clip, Spike's shirt, etc).

Notting Hill submitted by lstorc on July 2, 2019, 2:07am This is a cute, predictable romcom. It's good for an evening during which one doesn't care to think too much.

A Top Rom-Com submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 1:22pm This romantic comedy is nearly perfect, from the peak late-90s casting of Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant to the London neighborhood setting, the charming slow-burn love story, and an excellent supporting cast. The film respects its female characters and presents comfortable yet slightly surprising take on familiar tropes such as celebrity romance, will-they-won’t-they, and even the desperate last-minute car chase in which the hero dramatically declares his undying love for the heroine. All of this is shot through with characteristically self-effacing, dry British humor that works on many different levels. And while Hugh Grant plays a fairly standard bumbling normal bloke, Julia Roberts plays his romantic foil as a more reserved, cautious woman with striking emotional depth, giving this story a slightly more mature feel to some of its peers. This film feels like a warm cup of cocoa offering exactly what a good rom-com should: a slow simmer of building warmth, inherently comfortable and just plain good.

sweet chemistry submitted by yufamily on August 6, 2021, 9:16pm Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant should make more movies together
