Frances Mcdormand, Christian Bale, Kate Beckinsale, Natascha McElhone, Alessandro Nivola.
Harvard graduate Sam and his fiancée, Alex, move into Sam's mother's house in upscale Laurel Canyon, thinking that she would not be there. Only problem is that she is still there, supposedly finishing up a record that she's producing for her boy toy, Ian's band. Sam's mom seems more interested in smoking pot and drinking than actually working, though. Alex doesn't mind, but Sam is quite upset. Alex starts off focused as she works on finishing a dissertation on genomics, but is soon distracted. Meanwhile, Sam is equally distracted by the beautiful intern Sara.
DVD, Dolby, DTS surround sound, Region 1 encoding.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Worthless Garbage, unwatchable. submitted by Tassos on April 15, 2019, 6:37am A good actor like Frances is wasted here. And yes, the setting looked good, the house in the woods with the pool and the views etc.

I'm more interested in the setting than the plot. submitted by lisa on July 10, 2019, 5:26pm Don't think that speaks too well to the film. I agree with the reviewer who says Frances is wasted in this one.
