Originally produced for television in 1984.
Full screen (1.33:1 aspect ratio).
Volume 10. Worlds apart -- Volume 11. Oceans -- Volume 12. New worlds.
Host, David Attenborough.
Worlds apart: Despite their often-small size and isolation many islands are inhabited by wildlife. Attenborough investigates the ways in which plants and animals arrive at these locations and how they survive when they get there. Oceans: This program looks at the oceans, from drowned plains and hidden mountains to the minute drifting plankton and forests of kelp. The food webs of the oceans and the evolution of fish and mammals that live there are featured. New worlds: Humans have changed the face of the planet in many ways, causing willful damage and destruction while also creating new habitats for lants and animals. Adaptability is the key to success and this program looks at the mixed fortunes of a wide variety of wildlife.
DVD; Dolby digital 2.0.
