sweet series submitted by camelsamba on July 29, 2011, 10:11pm We started this series with the second book, because that's what was available at the library on that particular day. We read 2 through 5, then finally came back to The Storm, the initial book in the series. It does set up a lot of the groundwork of the relationships and characters - I better understand them, now. Especially Seabold. But you can certainly read the other books without this one. They all stand alone, it's just that you get a more rich picture if you read them all. Overall, they are sweet (but not syrupy) stories, with just the right amount of drama and peril. The relationships are central, and the language is marvelous.
