Good starter cookbook submitted by mdbowen on June 20, 2012, 9:06am This was the first vegan cookbook I ever owned. It's definitely a good starter book. The recipes are fairly simple, and most of the ingredients are pretty easy to find. There's also a helpful section at the beginning on vegan pantry staples, and how to cook certain basic things. Most of the recipes I've made have been pretty good. If you're a more experienced vegan cook, you can play with them a little bit to change them up or have them better suit your tastes.
Standard recipes with a few stand-outs submitted by yugure on November 13, 2012, 4:28pm Four hundred recipes can be a little overwhelming, but it also means there should be at least one or two to satisfy everyone! Most of the recipes are pretty standard (if you've already used several vegan cookbooks, you probably won't find much new here), and an advanced cook may not be particularly inspired, but a couple are noteworthy. I particularly liked the ziti with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and black olives, and the black bean chili with butternut squash (the recipe calls for apple juice, and boy, it really makes the flavor pop!).
Some Delicious Recipes submitted by Beth Manuel on June 24, 2014, 6:48pm I tried a few of these recipes in my first foray of vegan cooking. Mostly it gave me some ideas for other dishes. It was a good guide.
