Standard recipes with a few stand-outs
Four hundred recipes can be a little overwhelming, but it also means there should be at least one or two to satisfy everyone! Most of the recipes are pretty standard (if you've already used several vegan cookbooks, you probably won't find much new here), and an advanced cook may not be particularly inspired, but a couple are noteworthy. I particularly liked the ziti with artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and black olives, and the black bean chili with butternut squash (the recipe calls for apple juice, and boy, it really makes the flavor pop!).
Good starter cookbook
This was the first vegan cookbook I ever owned. It's definitely a good starter book. The recipes are fairly simple, and most of the ingredients are pretty easy to find. There's also a helpful section at the beginning on vegan pantry staples, and how to cook certain basic things. Most of the recipes I've made have been pretty good. If you're a more experienced vegan cook, you can play with them a little bit to change them up or have them better suit your tastes.
