A suitable marriage: A romance appears to develop between Elizabeth and German baron visiting the Bellamys but the true purpose of his trip is revealed during a conversation with Richard. A cry for help: Seeking to help his pregnant new maid, Richard confronts the father of the child and becomes embroiled in a conflict with the devious young man. Magic casements: Unable to do so himself, Richard asks a young army captain to escort the Lady Marjorie to an opera but rumors of an affair start to circulate downstairs. I dies from love: Emily falls deeply in love with the footman of another household but she takes drastic action when they are forbidden to see each other.
