A precis of Chomsky’s manufactured media…
The news industry may, with a touch of subversive whimsy, be described formulaically as N + E = W (where N equals “news,” E equals “entertainment,” and W equals “the wool over your eyes”). Or expressed in plain English: how is it that the seemingly ubiquitous reportage on Johnny Depp’s marriage woes—for instance—seems to bear more relevance to our society than wars, murders, women’s bodily rights, or the state of our climate, ad nauseam?
If you know the answer to that you needn’t bother with watching this DVD.
