COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Royal Tenebaums submitted by andreahubert on June 26, 2012, 7:25am While the characters are all portrayed well, I'm just not fond of this movie.

Best movie ever submitted by karjina on July 6, 2012, 8:16pm tracks a family through time. It's a dysfunctional family, but they truly love one another.

Weird submitted by crazypockets on July 25, 2013, 12:33pm I love this movie. It's so different from most of what's out there. The set design and wardrobe are great. I love how low-key it is while at the same time so much is happening.

Rainy day fondness... submitted by Kikumatsu97 on July 27, 2015, 12:54pm This movie is just the smartest, most creative installment of Wes Anderson's films. They are literally ALL something of greatness, but this movie rings the loudest as a profoundly relate-able. yet totally unique story of sibling rivalry, moving one, unrequited love, and desperation. I just can't praise this beautifully written and directed piece of work enough. The criterion collection has the best bonus features.

best submitted by manz on August 2, 2016, 8:52pm One of my favorite movies of all time! When I'm feeling down I just watch this movie! I love Wes Anderson's work.

excellent movie submitted by meghantpowell on August 31, 2018, 11:54pm Probably the first dark comedy I thoroughly enjoyed.

Hard to not enjoy submitted by jibkidder on June 22, 2022, 10:59pm I really don't like Wes Anderson, but he kind of won me over with this one. One interesting thing about the director is when I read a Film Comment list where a lot of directors rated their favorite 90s movies, his films were frequently cited. Never really took him to be a directors director, thought of him more as a populist, but I guess I was wrong! The directors were similarly into Tarantino.
