Complex and likable characters submitted by sschmerl on March 16, 2024, 6:08pm I was engaged from the start of this portrait of a community in a rural area of Michigan transitioning to unwelcome development. The characters are well drawn and their stories intersect in surprising ways. The events of the narrative are paced by the cycles of nature; harvests and woolly bear caterpillars.
