COMMUNITY REVIEWS

French Connection submitted by ccrose on August 31, 2019, 5:42pm Academy award for Gene Hackman.
One of the best cop action movies ever. The action scene of a car chase through NYC is famous for its speed and choreography. One slip up though: Hackmanwas driving below an EL going under the tracks. They spent a lot of time getting it right. Cops had blocked it off of course but one poor guy came out of his apartment to go to work and Hackman hit him. He totaled the car, walked away. The other guy got a dented side.
The acting is what differentiated it from sloppier efforts. Hackman would keep this type character through most of his career.
