The film MASH is OK, but I prefer the series, really.

An Altman Classic

MASH is the film that put Robert Altman on course to be one of the best directors in Hollywood. A black comedy set in Korea that's really a commentary about Vietnam and the absurdity of war in general, this is a must see classic. Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould have great chemistry as Hawkeye and Duke, and the antics inside the 4077th provide a comic relief from the realities of treating massive injuries in a mobile hospital unit. Listed on the American Film Institute's Top 100 films, it also features Altman staples like overlapping dialogue.

Pretty Good

Even though the beginning of the movie states that it takes place during the Korean War the director actually intended it to be set in Vietnam. There are some very funny moments but this is definitely not a movie to watch with your kids.
