COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Adirondack mysterys submitted by unknown on December 2, 2008, 2:38pm There are currently six books in this series. They are exceedingly entertaining. I must confess that I bought the latest one, because I couldn't wait. These stories take place in the Adirondacks, a place that I know little about. Clare Fergusson is an Episcopal Priest and Russ Van Alstyne is the Police Chief of the small town. You can see where all that is slowly leading. The stories go from high drama to low comedy. I was attracted to these books because Van Alstyne is a Viet Nam vet. The coping skills of these vets interest me. Fergusson is a retried Air Force pilot, which adds an interesting facet to her character. There are well rounded supporting characters, in the town and in the church. The mysteries are interesting and it is not easy to guess until fairly late in the story. Of course, each book stands alone. But I enjoyed starting with this one, the first. I highly recommend these books.
