Not a Great Standalone submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 9:50am This is the first Toot & Puddle book I’ve encountered, and as a result I constantly felt like I was missing something while reading this. Although the main storyline is clear enough and contains a nice, gentle touch of holiday magic, the book relies heavily on readers’ existing knowledge of the characters and is ultimately hollow without it. This might be a good choice for readers who already know Toot & Puddle, but I didn’t get enough of a sense of who they are to care much about this particular book or the rest of the series.
