All Over The Place submitted by KPNF on July 31, 2015, 5:23am The author seems to either be trying to do too many things or unsure of where she's going with the story. The basic plot is clear: the farmer is forgetful and leaves his house unlocked allowing his farm animals to come into his house and make a mess while he is out for the day. There is a clock illustration that strikes the hour on some of the pages that reference the passage of time, but not all of them. Why did the author add the clock if she wasn't going to include it on each page that references the time? Also, the title is a little misleading: it references the cat, but the cat features a very minimal role in the book; it also references the pig, who is really part of an ensemble. However, the illustrations are nicely done and children will enjoy looking at them and seeing the mischief.
