Kinda Boring submitted by Meginator on June 21, 2023, 11:26pm This is a picture book classic that just…did not live at all up to its reputation for me. Although I understand that this is supposed to be a day-in-the-life type of narrative, I was actively bored while reading the book, waiting for some sort of plot to develop or for Olivia’s antics to be more creative and more interesting, or at least hold some thematic consistency. Instead, Olivia feels like a generic young child without much (if any) depth and nothing to really distinguish her from anyone else fictional or real. The character design is charming and the book has a couple of genuinely clever visual jokes that made me laugh out loud, but ultimately I feel like there’s not really much to it, and this feels like a story explicitly designed for exasperated parents rather than for young readers; that can be fun, sure, but there are plenty of other books out there that work well for all audiences in this way, and I’m not sure why this one is held in such high regard.

after reading OLIVIA submitted by oliviaWoo on July 11, 2023, 10:17am this book's tital is OLIVIA and i am Olivia. But this book is funny! because
this book is OLIVIA but I'm not unhappy. this book is my favorite book!

Simple illustrations submitted by trina05 on July 14, 2023, 10:45pm A book with a simplified color scheme and a challenging main character. Olivia is a little bit contrary and a little bit persistent and all around fun to read
