Read it NOOOOWWW submitted by chaunceyblade on June 12, 2015, 10:41am Heartbreaking, sharp, and intensely human, this book made me fall in love with Margaret Atwood.

Wonderful! submitted by aohall on July 29, 2015, 4:41pm I really enjoyed this book. Margaret Atwood is a great writer, who brings you into the mind of her characters.

The Blind Assassin submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 23, 2019, 2:59pm This novel, published in 2000 but set in the early to mid-twentieth century tells the story of two sisters, Iris and Laura Chase. The sisters' caretaker forces Iris into an abusive marriage out of concern that the sisters will otherwise live in poverty. Iris' husband agrees to Laura living with himself and Iris. The sisters are abused in numerous ways and by numerous people, so the text may trigger abuse survivors. The novel also deals with the theme of stolen childhood/stolen children and authorship, both of literature and of one's own life. The novel feels particularly relevant as the Me Too movement gains ground and as abusers, such as Jeffrey Epstein, finally begin to face justice.

Really close to not finishing this book submitted by alisonhatch94 on August 9, 2022, 1:53pm I enjoyed the book and I thought the way she used a story, within a story, within in a story was fun and interesting. But there were several times where I almost gave up reading since it's not the most attention grabbing book and it's over 500 pages. I thought it got more exciting at the end when you start to piece the stories all together and the themes seemed important and relevant to today.
