Jazz + Rock Combo submitted by Meginator on August 31, 2019, 9:05pm I’ve only been familiar with Steely Dan by their reputation, so I was pleasantly surprised by their easygoing vibe, which is a blend of smooth jazz and classic rock. The combination works nicely for them, as they avoid the excesses of each genre and create complex musical soundscapes that remain broadly accessible while containing intricate instrumentation. Top it all off with some catchy hooks that still ring days later, and this is a pretty good album.
