Dark and good, if you like that kind of thing submitted by mbruno on August 21, 2015, 6:33pm This book is not for the faint of heart. There is much in it that is disturbing and graphic, but it also is written in an artful way that can lead one to contemplate the sanctity of all life and become introspective about ones own conduct. However, it can also give you nightmares. It is a book whose main character is not human, and, if you can stomach it, will make you think twice before you order a cheeseburger. But if you don't want to think twice, don't read this. Also there is a disturbing rape scene that upset me so much I had to take a break before finishing it. But Faber is an engaging and an incredibly creative and intelligent author and, other than that, I couldnt put it down.
