Awesome submitted by derin on July 9, 2011, 5:35pm I've had experiences like this and I wish I could be just like other people. I like this book because I can relate to Wilma!

:) submitted by sophie104 on July 12, 2011, 8:14pm It was a great book, but the ending could've been better. Must read!

great book submitted by cwb5463 on August 4, 2011, 9:02am Very well written for older kids!

Great submitted by Motomori on July 10, 2012, 3:56pm I loved this book because other people can relate to wanting to fit in and how they measure up at school.

Not So Good submitted by Kendra Wolter on June 18, 2013, 8:01pm Gail Carson Levine is my favorite author, and I have read and loved all her books, but not this one. I think I didn't like it because I don't care at all about being popular, so I feel like Wilma is stupid to wish to be popular, instead of wishing to be able to fly or be immortal or something. It could be a good book to someone who cares about being popular, but not me.

GOOD submitted by zidrissu on August 20, 2013, 4:42pm This book is a little different from Gail's other books. There are no elves and trolls and what not. However there is some type of witch and Wilma, the main character truly learns the meaning of be careful what you wish for! She also learns that self- acceptance and love is more important than the approval of others.

Must Read submitted by anushagupta on July 5, 2016, 12:08pm Interesting and funny with hints of important messages.

DO NOT READ LITTLE BITS OF SPOILERS submitted by Corgo0828 on June 19, 2018, 6:38pm The message the author is trying to say is very sweet but i hate this story. Wilma dose a kind act by letting an old lady have her seat and she GETS A WISH?!! This is a very sweet but what kind of world dose she live in? I really hope this is a normal thing to do because she gets rewarded was something so amazing and life changing! Next Wilma becomes so annoying I know she had a limited amount of time to wish for something but she couldn't listen to what the old lady said? She pretty much said the same thing as Wilma but worded better. I know there has to be some kind of conflict but this is kind of a stupid one. This story was also really boring it was really hard finishing it. Anyways I'm really sorry about my rough review but this book just mad me kinda annoyed.

Disappointed submitted by khamidi on July 30, 2019, 2:35pm Gail Carson Levine is a great author, but this book wasn't that good. I guess I was expecting more because the characters and plot isn't very interesting, and the ending could've been better. The narrator is supposedly kind, but her actions were really annoying,
