COMMUNITY REVIEWS

playing this will 'explain' oft heard tracks submitted by hathaway1066 on July 13, 2014, 9:35am I didn't realize that some of the other songs often played to evoke the 60's--apart from the iconic White Rabbit, of course--were also from this album. Good to know where to look for them, and to know their connections/origin.

Surrealistic Pillow submitted by SBNB on July 29, 2018, 2:32pm I picked it up because of the CD name and found out it wasn't too bad.

Psychedelic Weirdness submitted by SaraP on July 25, 2019, 12:57pm It's got some great songs, but it has a few clunkers too. Jerry Garcia is listed as the Guru!

Wasn't this their debut? submitted by lisa on July 22, 2020, 4:27pm In any case, it's a classic.

Some Dark Themes submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 11:10am Given the strength of this album’s singles, and the band’s lasting influence on music, I expected more quality across the board; instead, the band seems to have saved their best for a few tracks, with the rest serving just as filler. Still, the album’s pervasive sense of darkness is interesting and relatively consistent (even in the otherwise cheerful-seeming “Somebody to Love”) and gives it a unique vibe, even if the songs themselves aren’t all that memorable beyond a few classics.
