The ugly veggies submitted by avrogers1 on July 5, 2019, 1:31pm This is such a cute kids book. The pictures are nice. Ugly vegetables are at still yummy vegetables!

The Ugly Vegetables submitted by Varshini on July 16, 2019, 9:56am A nice picture book for children. The recipe is also nice to make with kids.

Great book submitted by purplelily on August 12, 2019, 8:20pm Loved this book! Can't wait to try the recipe at the end too with some "ugly" vegetables from my own yard :)

Gardening & Culture submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2021, 12:22pm This book effectively uses gardening as a conduit for a moral lesson about tradition and the importance of intercultural understanding. The story is fairly straightforward but clearly heartfelt, and while the character design doesn’t resonate with me I do love how Grace Lin incorporates a diverse cast, which underscores the book’s core message. This is an especially good book for readers whose family traditions come from and/or blend elements of different cultures, and I would love to try the included recipe sometime.

The Ugly Vegetables submitted by SBNB on June 20, 2022, 1:33pm Great story for kids! My daughter and I enjoyed it.
