A Fully Realized Debut submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2020, 12:12pm Given its quality, it’s difficult to believe that this is the Dave Matthews Band’s debut album, yet here we are. Nearly every song is familiar from the radio and all of them hold up well today, from the intricate guitar riffs to the wide variety of musical influences that coalesce to give the band a sound all their own. The lyrics are surprisingly strong for a jam band, and each track showcases the members’ musical talents without ever losing the plot. Tracks as different as “Satellite” and “Ants Marching” prove the group’s versatility and ability to craft radio-ready hooks while maintaining their improvisational integrity. This is an all-time classic for good reason, and may be the band’s strongest album.
One of the best DMB albums submitted by suprana on July 23, 2023, 11:39pm This album has so many great songs and in my opinion, it is one of DMB's best albums.
