I always enjoy reading to my children books about other people’s families, culture, and traditions. I like them to know the way we do life is very different than others, and that is perfectly normal. In this book we experienced a young girl receiving mehndi on her hands for her aunts wedding. She didn't want to, she was nervous about what people at school would think. Near the end she was grateful for this part of her life.
The book was good, but long and my children struggled keeping engaged, although they did end up listening to the whole story.
