Thoughtful fantasy submitted by sbleanunez on August 23, 2019, 10:27am I'd recommend this and Duane's other Feline Wizards books to older readers who enjoyed her Young Wizards series, as it is set in the same world, with the same wizardry based on precise description of the changes you call into being—yet it does not need to be read after or in conjunction with the Young Wizards books, as the characters do not overlap, as far as I recall. I'd also recommend it to people interested in imagining the shenanigans and inner worlds of cats, as the protagonists in this book are all felines. The story here involves time travel to prevent the assassination of Queen Victoria and the return of stranded, accidental time travelers to their own worlds. Along the way, the cats battle the evil that has left these travelers stranded and the interpersonal challenges and temptations that come with this high-stakes work.
