WOW 1999 submitted by SBNB on July 28, 2012, 10:56pm This was the last great WOW CD. There are some great songs here that can introduce you to some great bands.

A Tale of Two Discs submitted by Meginator on August 25, 2017, 9:49pm Disc One of this compilation has some all-timers from excellent bands like the Supertones, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, and the W's. These bands injected life into mainstream Christian popular music and made albums that sounded like anything coming out of secular music at the time. Sure, there are some praise songs mixed in there, but they have an edge to them; the album includes a (hilarious) Veggie Tales song that has nothing at all to do with Christianity! It feels like a microcosm of where music was at the moment, though (surprisingly!) more on the rock than the pop side. On Disc Two, however, everything reverts to the stereotypical contemporary Christian sound and lyrics, and there isn't much to sustain interest to many listeners, inside or outside of the religion. This compilation is half a welcome trip down memory lane and half a reminder of why I live in the present.
