Variett Is the Spice of Jazz submitted by Meginator on June 15, 2019, 10:19am The vibraphone gives this album a unique soundscape, and the tracks cover a few different styles, keeping things continually surprising with nice changes of pace covering everything from cool jazz to bop. I didn't much care for the first track, but I'm really glad I stuck with the album as it eventually rounds into form. The vibes are nice and bright and the musicians often trade melodies, allowing every instrument to get its moment in the spotlight. There's a lot to like here.
