A boy's hamster leads an increasingly large group of hamsters on a tour of the boy's house, while his father counts down the minutes to bedtime.

The surface story isn't all that special, but study the drawings and you'll find lots of other stories. Each of the original 10 hamster children has his/her own personality, and their stories develop in amusing ways through the 10 minutes. And if you look you'll discover that this bedtime is happening on the same night as another Peggy Rathmann bedtime book, "Goodnight Gorilla".
