"Also published as Death in the air."
"From seat No. 9, Hercule Poirot was ideally placed to observe his fellow air passengers. Over to his right sat a pretty young woman, clearly infatuated with the man opposite; ahead, in seat No. 13, sat a countess with a poorly concealed cocaine habit; across the gangway in seat No. 8, a detective writer was being troubled by an aggressive wasp. What Poirot did not yet realize was that behind him, in seat No. 2, sat the slumped, lifeless body of a woman."--The publisher.

A clever and entertaining mysery submitted by htzeng on June 21, 2016, 9:44am This book is funny and engaging as you try to follow Detective Hercule Poirot's wit. It was hard to put it down because you just want to find out what happens!

Interesting mystery but.... submitted by ramanl on August 16, 2020, 12:46pm I enjoyed reading this book, the plot was complicated and engaging until the end. The ending was not as strong as I thought some of the other Poirot mysteries were (like Death on the Nile, Five Little Pigs or Murder on the Orient Express) and left me questioning how someone can be murdered the way she was on a small plane without any of the other passengers noticing. It was still an enjoyable read and I would highly recommend it.

Death on a Plane submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:08pm This Poirot mystery uses some elements of the locked-room genre as the famous (as he’ll be the first to tell you) Belgian detective investigates a murder that occurred during his own flight over the English Channel. Christie deploys her usual deft hand in presenting and slowly unraveling the various clues, and the third-person narrative voice works particularly well with the large (but limited) cast of suspects. Some of the romantic overtones become a bit distracting in a way I’m not sure the author intended, but the twists and surprises keep the story interesting while allowing the reader a fair chance at solving the mystery (or at least a few pieces of it). This isn’t quite a top-tier Poirot adventure, but the unique setting and the author’s sly use of misdirection make it a fantastic classic detective tale.
