Phenomenal submitted by fdaudi on July 9, 2011, 1:41pm Martin does it again! The second book in the Song of Ice and Fire series is as amazing as the first. Martin brings you back into the land of Westeros, but the tension betweeen each of the houses has risen and new players in the Game of Thrones are coming in. I have not read a series that has left me wanting more.

Now that HBO is making this series I hope they continue to stick to how the books have been written.

Great series submitted by ashflowtuff on June 28, 2012, 12:46pm Definitely read this series. Don't be intimidated by the length of the books. You will get sucked in and finish them faster that you think. Read them before you watch the TV show. This is one of the best fantasy stories I've read.

Dune-like submitted by hathaway1066 on June 28, 2012, 7:07pm Great for both descriptive richness and rich milieu/setting--almost but not quite too much so of the latter.
Interplay of interesting characters, and elaborate plot twists too.

All of that has me thinking of this series as a successor to 'Dune'--only this series doesn't (so far as I've read) have the problems with its later volumes that the Dune series suffered from.

GREAT BOOK submitted by yash on June 22, 2013, 12:31pm Clash of kings is an amazing book. It has many scenes that make not leave the book until you finish it.

good submitted by michael007 on July 1, 2013, 4:21pm I love this book, Clash of Kings.

A great sequal to A Game of Thrones submitted by kittenkat101 on July 28, 2015, 9:28am This was an excellent sequel. Although I get a little confused by all the character turnover. The tension in the realm is increasing and Kings are changing. It's a very exciting book and although it is long, it is hard to put down.

Amazing! submitted by ECReader on June 18, 2016, 9:25am The second book of the Song of Ice and Fire series is really good. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one, but I still loved reading it. I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy books and action.

Good Read submitted by archuancha on June 20, 2016, 1:04pm Martin creates an extraordinary world in medieval settings. Liked the rich, colorful characterization, especially Tyrion Lannister.

The beginning of the end submitted by mowjac on July 26, 2018, 2:20pm After a tightly written first book, Martin expands his focus, adding characters so that you can see the eventual downfall of the books--too many characters and not enough editing. While still focusing on the Stark and Baratheon/Targaryn plots, he adds in others that distract from that core plot. This is the last good book in this series.

A clash of kings submitted by avrogers1 on July 12, 2019, 12:28pm This is one of the fantastic books in the series that inspired the TV series Game of Thrones. Its a wonderful story and its very well written. The characters are complex and the storyline is great

Dense submitted by Aimless on July 24, 2019, 2:35pm I read the entire series, I was the minority that was not into it

W submitted by ann arbor air on June 12, 2021, 2:47pm Super great love it -

This book cements GOT as one of the greats submitted by gnatxela on July 25, 2021, 1:36pm Just when you thought it couldn't get better clash of kings makes the series amazing, The last memorable book for me in the series.

Intriguing submitted by Edigaet1 on August 15, 2021, 12:46pm There's a lot going on in this series. There could be less and it would still be good, but I still like it very much.
