COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Disappointing submitted by rekha on July 27, 2014, 10:10am Too many songs from others.

Folk Singers Old and New submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 8:59am This compilation functions both as a tribute to Pete Seeger himself and as a lively snapshot of the American folk scene. The artists draw from many regional and stylistic traditions, with hints of Celtic and bluegrass influences sprinkled throughout the album along with more traditional, guitar-forward folk styles. The songs themselves often have a political, staunchly anti-war bent to them, with many incorporating Christian religious themes as well. This is a great showcase of Seeger’s catalogue and of the artists who continually keep folk music alive and evolving.
