COMMUNITY REVIEWS

good submitted by sauerr on August 2, 2011, 10:11am this is a great book for great readers

Sequel submitted by steveiew on June 27, 2018, 1:15pm Great sequel to The Golden Compass. In this book Lyra teams up with with Will to search for his father an a magical knife that can cut between worlds. Great book for younger readers but adults will enjoy it as well.

A Worthy Addition submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 7:22pm This book continues fantastic quest of two kids trying to understand Dust and the meaning of growing up. The pacing is consistent and suspenseful. The characters have relatable emotions. Overall, well told.

mediocre submitted by VanCancue on August 9, 2020, 12:42pm Not my cup of tea but excellently adapted by the HBO TV series. I could get through the first two books with a moderate pace.

The introduction of Will helped move the story along. But all this story seems to do is move along.

The character Lyra as interpreted by the audio book though attempting to be righteous and considerate was erratic and irksome.

Despite all this the story is great but tedious.

Excellent sequel submitted by ckay15 on August 18, 2020, 11:49pm Great follow-up to the first story, though I find Will less interesting than Lyra. The connection to the modern world is fascinating!
