The Colour and the Shape is an easy listen - catchy songs, driving tempos, and powerful lyrics that sometimes sneak up on you. Walking After You and February Stars are easily the best songs on the album, while the radio singles (Monkey Wrench, My Hero) are still among the best on the album.

This is a great starting point for someone just getting into the Fighting of Foo, and long time fans already know how good it is.

A Timeless Classic submitted by Meginator on July 11, 2019, 11:23pm This album overflows with pure late-1990s alt-rock goodness, heavy on guitars, full of relentless energy, and so good you have to listen to it (at least) twice. The Foo Fighters offer an unadorned style of rock that lets the songs speak for themselves, with lyrical depth that rewards repeated listens. A superb album with amazing depth and consistency, this is a timeless classic.
