Lovely Hindu-Celt Music
submitted by Jan Wolter on August 20, 2013, 6:54pm
Sheila Chandra's music was a unique cross between Hindi and Western (primarily Celtic) music. On other albums she performed some songs with English lyrics, but not on this one. Not that it matters, you don't need to understand the words to enjoy this music. Often there are no words to understand, as she plays her voice as an instrument.Gorgeous and exotic. Very rewarding for the adventurous listener.
Chandra was eventually afflicted by an illness that rendered her effectively mute. A very great loss to the world.
