COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Essential for Music History Folks submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 9:45am This album is good enough on its own, but from personal experience I highly recommend listening to it with (or, I suppose, as) a music major who can explain just how well these adaptations of classic Disney songs adhere to the stylistic constraints of the composers they so neatly emulate. More than a typical “x goes classical” experience, these arrangements thoughtfully pair the famous tunes with famous composer counterparts, adding a bit of unexpected humor for anyone who is broadly familiar with the orchestral canon. This is a great concept executed to near perfection, and I’d love to see more albums that follow the format. Pick this up as either a salute to the music of Disney or as a crash course in music history; it works either way.
