Magazine for Very Young Children submitted by skcramer on July 15, 2013, 8:58pm From the publishers of Cricket, this 20-page magazine features short illustrated stories and poems for very young children. Each issue opens with a story starring recurring characters Kim, a toddler, and Carrots, Kim’s stuffed rabbit, and these recurring characters give children who frequently read the magazine a comforting sense of familiarity. Each of the following pieces is written by a different author and illustrated by a different artist, and while the 4- to 6-page stories don’t offer the satisfying story arc of a traditional picture book, they are nevertheless engaging. Parents seeking reading material for young children who cannot yet sit through a whole picture book will likely find these stories and poems a perfect choice. The magazine itself is constructed of durable glossy paper, thicker than the typical magazine paper, and will likely hold up well against wear-and-tear. The magazine also measures only 15 cm by 16.5 cm, making it easier for young children to manipulate. There is a website for parents with suggestions for reading this magazine with their children.

Babybug submitted by SBNB on July 10, 2015, 2:54pm This is a magazine for babies. The pages are heavier so they're harder to rip. It's cute and worth looking at, but some of the stories are too short and you have to go to their website to see the rest of the verses to the songs they put in. I prefer Highlights Hello even though it's shorter. My baby/toddler likes them both.

Once... submitted by jibkidder on June 18, 2022, 3:25pm I found a bunch of babybugs from many years ago and the kim and carrots stories were the same as in new ones. I guess since the audience grows out of this product pretty fast, they can keep recycling the content.

Great for the 3 and under set submitted by lisibit on July 15, 2022, 9:47am My toddler has enjoyed a subscription to this magazine. But now that he's approaching 4, he's losing interest and looking for longer form reading. I recommend this for kids 3 and under!
