Good Read submitted by sophas on June 16, 2014, 11:39am Johnny promises not to go off and fight in the Civil War after his father dies, instead he carries supplies to them and gets captured by a black Yankee soldier. There friendship slowly grows and Johnny thinks how could Cush be lower than him. The book talks about if all men were created equal and why the war was fought. It is a great book that should definitely be read!!!
