Corelli's Mandolin submitted by leighsprauer on August 23, 2013, 9:29pm Although this isn't as impressively written as "Birds Without Wings," it is nonetheless a beautiful story of love amid the horror of World War II. I was sad when I finished it, because I had come to care for the characters so much. I'm tempted to watch the movie that was based on it, but I'm afraid that it won't live up to the book.
Great book with disappointing ending submitted by Sylwia on July 14, 2021, 3:18pm The story is quite engaging. Especially if you enjoy historical fiction. You will learn to feel and care for the characters. However, the ending is more than upsetting and confusing. Corelli's character changes quite drastically. I found the topic though quite fascinating as I never learned much about other countries in the war.
