I had watched the1994 movie before several times before I'd read this, and I really really hated it! But just so I could say I'd read it, I did, but it had unexpected results. I. LOVED LOVED LOVED it! I guess the movie left out a lot of exciting things.. I ADORED the characters, I though they were really likeable, and had so much more characteristic and more of everything they'd had in the movie. It never got boring! Every chapter had new adventures, new people, new discovers! Even though it's a classic, don't let that stop you. READ IT!
This is one of the best books I've ever read! It brings back so many happy memories :) For those who are scared to read it because it's a classic, don't be. I always looked at classics as boring, dull, detailed, and slow. I finally convinced myself to read it and I'm glad I did!!
