A Quaker murder mystery? submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 27, 2012, 1:11pm While I normally appreciate everything by and about Quakers (usually there is very little because generally only Quakers--and there are very few of us--writer about Friends), this murder mystery series did not impress me. The writing is stilted and the Quaker aspect feels more like a motif tacked onto a murder mystery, rather than an integral part of the storyline and characterization. The book also requires a great deal of exposition for those who are not members of the Religious Society of Friends to understand it.
