Funny! submitted by kmaforester on July 31, 2014, 10:13am Hilarious, sarcastic, and wacky take on those well known all-too familiar fairytales. Really great read!

Hilarious take on fairy tales and picturebooks submitted by gulickb on May 7, 2015, 11:31am This book is ridiculous, hilarious and wonderfully well done. It takes the traditional tales that we are all familiar and flips them upside-down and inside-out. It is beautifully drawn and wonderfully written and it should be read by everyone who loves stories, books and fairy tales! It gives children a chance at understanding just how much they know about books and stories by changing the way that they are done. It draws the reader in and makes them aware that they are reading and just how much they can enjoy that. I could mention that it was a caldecot honors book, or that it has been reprinted many many times. I could point out that John Scieszka has won countless awards. Instead I will point out that this book is enjoyable by all ages not just children. It is also a great book for someone who is just starting to be confident in their reading ability as it gives them a chance to see just how well they know "books". So whether you read it alone or out loud in a group the book is great!

Review by Jake Crusher submitted by Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor on April 12, 2016, 9:47am Do you like change up stories? If so, then I think you will like this story. My book is The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. This book is fiction and it’s a collection of funny stories. The fairy tales we know get changed in a funnier way.

I give this book five stars. I like this book because it tells me a lesson to always have stupid tales. I like the part when the ugly duckling is just ugly. It inspired me to make my own story about a beautiful duck. I like when the little old lady did not chase the stinky cheese man. I like the part when Chicken Licken thinks that the sky is falling. I recommend this book to people who like funny stories.

Great book submitted by maggie_aa on August 21, 2018, 11:45pm very funny story. Like this book

Inverted fairy tales submitted by terpsichore17 on August 12, 2019, 9:13pm A somewhat meta take on traditional fairy tale stories. Bills itself, truthfully enough, as Fairly Stupid.

The illustrations will either delight your children, or terrify them.

The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales submitted by lstorc on August 30, 2019, 3:39pm The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales is a brilliant collection of parody fairy tales!
