Great Art, Fun and Quick Story submitted by Jeremiah042 on March 30, 2010, 6:55pm Jan Brett's illustrations are always good, and this one works quite well. The story, while a bit repetitive, is fun, and there's the added bonus of another wordless story going on, on the bottom of each page.

Good stuff for your 3-6 year olds.

Beautiful, colorful, detailed illustrations containing her story-within-a-story format make this book one that is interesting to read over and over again. Jan takes advantage of Scandinavian folklore for the story. I recommend this book.
