a parent's hardest choice submitted by ccrose on August 28, 2019, 4:56pm A fairly well off family's teenage son is accused of murdering his girlfriend. The focus is on the parents, what do they do? The agonizing time spent trying to decide to cover up any evidence or turn him over to police are the two extremes and it exposes the strengths and weaknesses of each parent. Streep is a physician. Before she learns that her son is possibly the murderer, she sees the dead girl in the ER and has to tell her parents. Its a small town, and tension is extreme. I love the take on the theme of before and after: once something happens, it will never be the same.
