Beautiful submitted by Steph on July 9, 2014, 11:29am At times heartbreaking, at times hilarious. Yates does a beautiful job capturing the angst of suburbia and the fear of mediocrity.

The Movie Followed It Closely submitted by tudorprincess on June 20, 2017, 8:57am If you've seen the movie, reading the book is almost like reading the transcript. The part about middle class life (having a full-time job you hate, a house, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence) being a trap is really thought provoking. You can't help but feel pity for the couple since they have no idea who they are or what they want, and have ended up in a situation where they could never break free from their boring, simple lives even if they wanted to.
