Wonderful submitted by Lmd3577 on July 26, 2013, 4:01pm I first read this book when I was a child and what I liked about it was that Laura really had a way of transporting you into her life as a child. I feel that this is a must read book for both children and adults alike because in a world where we live such a fast passed life we need to take some time out of our lives and just get transported back to a simpler life. This is a wonderful set of books that can take the readers back in time and let's the reader walk in the footsteps literally of Laura.

Absolutely Charming! submitted by bookworms on June 23, 2018, 7:18pm This book is a sheer joy to read! It is written so well that it helps you to experience what young Laura Ingalls is experiencing during the story.

The story tells of Laura's life in the big woods of Wisconsin with her Ma, Pa and two sisters. It explains the traditions, food, stories, and celebrations that young Laura took part in.


Please read it! It is the perfect start to the amazing Little House series.

And, because it is the first book in the series, they are often inspired to find out more about the Ingalls family in the rest of the books.

This said, it’s easy fiction that kids can enjoy and parents not worry about too much conflict that has to be discussed to process.

Awesome Classic submitted by TLW1998 on June 23, 2022, 11:29pm One of the best books that I have ever read. Laura has a charming way of writing. She is a great story teller, and her stories really paint a picture of what it was like to live as an early American pioneer. My 5-6 year old daughter and I loved reading the entire Little House series together. The books are very enjoyable and educational too. I highly recommend reading the entire collection. This book is based on Laura's life while living in the Big Woods.

It's cool they have a gun in case and it is pretty good but there were no tech and there is no plot, and a story needs a good plot twist. A story needs a good plot twist :| .
