Series Best submitted by emjane on June 20, 2012, 8:52pm As a kid, I read every single Boxcar Children book I could get my hands on. The Yellow House Mystery was always my favorite.

Still Compelling submitted by rwright on August 3, 2012, 1:40pm I read and loved this series of books when I was a child in the 1980s and early 1990s. The language used between the siblings may feel a bit dated today, but the allure of children surviving on their own never fades. I remember being as absorbed in all the details of eating and drinking and going about a day's work as I was in the mystery plots. A good series for young readers, one that stands the test of time.

great! submitted by KOH on August 28, 2017, 8:22pm Kids and I love reading these together!

Great books submitted by timdufresne on July 18, 2018, 2:13pm These books were a hallmark of my childhood library. Make for great quick reads for kids, intriguing, bloodless mysteries that are still lots of fun.

Great submitted by zmclaugh on July 20, 2018, 8:40pm Of all the Boxcar Children books I read, this one definitely sticks out to me as being especially interesting.

good submitted by Kenes on July 11, 2020, 6:18pm good book for kids

Great! submitted by TLW1998 on June 21, 2022, 8:56pm My 6-7 year old daughter and I love reading The Boxcar Children books. The kids in the books have good morals, values, and manners, and they are very independent. There is usually a mystery to solve. This book involves the yellow house on surprise island. Charming.

Mystery submitted by Bookeepers on August 8, 2022, 8:43pm Love this one and is one of the better true mysteries of the series.
