Wow again submitted by cvyork on January 13, 2012, 3:14pm I read 'Slaughterhouse Five' and then this. This author is tremendous. It is more sophisticated than 'Slaugherhouse Five' which gives it a totally different style and rhythm.

great writing but dated submitted by 21621031390949 on August 24, 2016, 1:13pm Just re-read this for fun, wondering if it would hold up after all these years. And the verdict is....it does, and it doesn't. Vonnegut is truly hilarious sometimes, incredibly witty, sardonic, and clever with the satire. However, I was stunned by the misogyny and racism in the book. At first I thought it was all tongue in cheek, but then I realized how much it offended me, and I realized it would never be widely accepted today - even if it were intended as satire. We've come a long way from the 1970's, I guess.

I'm giving it 3 stars. Without the sexism and racism, I might have given it a full 5.

Wonderful! submitted by abbhar on June 13, 2023, 5:06pm This is my favorite work by Vonnegut so far. Kept me entertained the whole way through, though it is definitely outdated and uses inappropriate racist language.
